About: The Cripple Creek Ice Festival is a spectacular event. Come watch ice sculptors carve ice into beautiful works of art that will amaze you. Going on its 10th annual, the artistic theme of the Ice Festival changes every year. The 2017 theme is “Safari in Ice”. Themes have included a Mythological Wonderland, Story Time, Under the Sea, a Military Salute Carved in Ice, a Rocky Mountain Wonderland, the Old West and a Medieval theme. The Cripple Creek Ice Festival features numerous fun events to enjoy throughout the two event weekends. Interactive sculptures are available for event attendees to climb on and to have a Kodak moment. Several sculptures are made just for kids, with a fun ice slide, an ice maze, and carnival-type games that are all made of ice. There are always IPAs to cleanse the palate and delight us all, but the winter brings a more robust diversity of beer styles than any other time of the year. At WCBF we are excited to host year 3 of our annual festival in Boulder. We are expecting around 50 breweries in attendance this year pouring over 150 amazing craft beers. Last year we introduced the “People’s choice” voting and Weldwerks Brewing out of Greeley took home top prize.

Chefs will be competing for their own 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place trophies as well as Best showmanship and People’s Choice. Stop by Soda Springs Park from 10:30am-1:00pm to enjoy samples of gumbo. Lucky Joe’s St. Patrick’s Day Parade | Mar 11th

About: The parade is a FREE event that is open to all ages, beginning at 10:00am and beloved by the entire community. This event has been held in the historic district of downtown Fort Collins for two decades. Volunteers from the community help with making sure the parade comes together, including being marshals for the parade route, judges, grand marshals, and more. The crowd of thousands will line the streets of the parade route, cheer on their friends and favorite entries, and enjoy the atmosphere. The entries are required to represent the St. Patrick’s Day theme and will be judged by a community panel to determine who wins 1st, 2nd and 3rd place awards.

St. Baldrick’s: Conquer Kids’ Cancer | Mar 18th

About: This nationwide event raises funds for pediatric cancer research. For Estes Park, this is our 15th year that we will shave heads to help Conquer Kids’ Cancer! Volunteers find that shaving their heads “baldly” stand in solidarity with the approximately 300,000 kids diagnosed with cancer each year and frequently lose their hair as a result of treatment. This is a small sacrifice in comparison to what these children endure. Come get your head shaved! There will be food, drink and tons of fun!
